The main objective of the ATSSA is the study and encouragement of safety and practices in the maintenance and operation of motor transport fleets. The ethical practices and promotion of sound development and reform in Fleet Management and Transport Maintenance are also an important issue.
The ATSSA executive members operate the Canadian
Fleet Maintenance Seminar . The largest
maintenance seminar in the province, is held
annually in Toronto and attended by over 700
delegates.
We serve on Provincial Advisory Committees such as the "Truck/Coach Technicians Committee, and the Apprenticeship Reform Committee. The ATS branches have sponsored more than 300 apprentices since 1990. A full 80% of these apprentices are employed today and serving our transport community.
